The people behind a new Manx football club that it is hoped will play in the English non-league system are planning a series of meetings around the island.
Organisers hope it will give people the opportunity to find out more about the FC Isle of Man project and ask any questions they may have about it.
The first of these takes place next Saturday morning, September 7, at Colby FC’s clubhouse.
Further meetings will follow at Peel FC on the evening of Monday, September 9 and at Ballafletcher the following Saturday morning.
FC Isle of Man spokesperson Paul Jones stated: ’Firstly, we want to sincerely thank those clubs who have come forward and offered to host these meetings.
’From the outset we have been keen to ensure that FC IoM is open and transparent about its plans.
’These "Town Hall" meetings provide us with the chance to do just that, but more importantly they will also provide opportunities for members of the wider football community to come and meet those involved in the FC IoM project and discuss our proposed plans and thoughts.
’While we have attempted to regionalise the meetings for logistical reasons we should stress that all meetings are open to anyone irrespective of location, the club they represent/follow or just an interest in Manx football.
’We look forward to seeing as many people at each of these gatherings as possible.’
FC IoM hope to announce details of at least one further meeting in the next few days.
Meeting details:
l Saturday, September 7 at Colby FC starting at 11.15am.
l Monday, September 9 at Peel FC starting at 7.45pm.
l Saturday, September 14 at Ballafletcher clubhouse (hosted by Corinthians FC) starting at 10.45am.
