FC Isle of Man is now officially a football club after its affiliation to the IoM Football Association was approved this week.
The affiliation process started in October last year when the Isle of Man FA and its associated clubs voted to allow FC Isle of Man to become an affiliated member of the association from season 2020-21.
FC Isle of Man chairman Gary Weightman said: ’There have been many steps to take along the way for FC Isle of Man, but it is affiliation to the Isle of Man FA that makes us a football club, not a dream.
’It is testament to the hard work, dedication and tenacity of the whole FC Isle of Man committee that we have come this far, mainly through the inspiration and vision of Paul Jones.
’There are still big challenges ahead for the club, we can meet and overcome them and fulfil the dream of an Isle of Man football team playing in the National League System in England.
’Thanks to all the members, supporters and our partners who have helped along the way and to the Isle of Man FA and clubs for their help in getting us this far.’
