Castletown beat Pulrose United 1-0 to lift the Paul Henry Gold Cup at the Bowl on Saturday afternoon.
An even match was only settled in injury time when Kiran Collister stooped to force home a back-post header despite the best efforts of a Pully defender on the line.
Collister’s late winner was the culmination of a dramatic final 10 minutes.
Pully thought they were on the way to adding the Gold Cup to the Woods Cup crown they won at Easter when Owen Canipa was brought down in the Town box.
Marc Priestnal looked to have put his side ahead from the spot, only for referee Matty Shaw to blow his whistle as the former St Mary’s striker started his run up so he could send off Town’s Paddy Cooper for his remonstrations at the original decision.
Priestnal stepped up to re-take the penalty, only to fire his effort against the Town cross-bar.
With Town down to 10, the game opened up. Pulrose’s Man of the Match Owen Quayle produced a goal-line clearance to deny Town talisman Alex Crawley before Barry English flashed a volley narrowly over at the other end of the pitch.
As extra-time loomed Town won a free-kick on the left. It was tossed into the box, eluding the grasp of Pulrose keeper Stuart Morris. Young centre-back Collister was on hand to pick up the pieces and seal his side the trophy to add it to Town’s runner-up finish in JCK Division Two.
