Douglas Royal won the 15th Regency Travel-sponsored FA Cup final on Tuesday evening after defeating holders Peel 5-3 in dramatic fashion at the Bowl.

With the match finely balanced at 2-2 in the closing stages, Royal’s Rebecca Cole scored the fastest ever hat-trick in a Manx women’s cup final, netting her a match-winning treble within six minutes.

It was a record seventh time the Whites have won this competition, despite not winning this cup for six years.

Peel took the lead twice through strikes from Vanessa Christian and Eleanor Gawne before they were cancelled out by a Donna Shimmin brace.

Cole then took centre stage. Sarah O’Reilly netted a consolation in added time during the second half.
