Chris Bass Sr has named his 16-man squad for this weekend’s Niamh Challenge Cup in North London.

Only three of the squad (Sam Holliday, Frank Jones and Mike Williams) that travelled to Northern Cyprus in June for the ConIFA Euros are making the trip for games against teams from the Barawa and Chagos FAs.

Indeed eight of the squad are representing the Manx International Football Alliance side for the first time including Lee Gale who makes a surprise return to football after riding for the Isle of Man in the mountain biking events at the recent NatWest Island Games in Gotland.

Other new faces in the squad are Connor Gorman, Alex Holden, Mathew Cain, Shaun Kelly, Karl Clark and St George’s youngsters Joel Ibanez and Lewis Bridson.

Galway United striker Declan Sharkey will also make the trip alongside Phil Knox, Ste Whitley, Josh Thomas and Calum Morrissey.

The Manx face Barawa tomorrow, Saturday, at 7.45pm with Chagos providing the opposition on Sunday afternoon.

Both games are being held at Haringey Borough FC.
