The Isle of Man FA’s men’s side are back in action on Saturday afternoon, only three weeks after winning gold at the NatWest Island Games.

Nick Hurt’s side travel to Northern Premier League outfit Lancaster City for a pre-season friendly.

Eight of the 14-man travelling party were on duty in Visby, including manager Hurt who once again names himself in the playing squad.

Ste Riding, Daniel Bell, Frank Jones, Sean Doyle, Rhys Oates, Calum Morrissey and Alex Holden are also making the trip to Lancashire after helping fire the Manx to victory at the Games.

Coming into the reckoning are Peel goalkeeper Owen Dawson plus Rushen defender Alex Maitland, Corinthians’ winger Josh Ridings and Union Mills striker Brody Patience.

Also returning to the fold are experienced St George’s duo Johnny Myers and Chris Bass Jr who both missed the trip to Scandinavia.

The 2pm kick-off at the Giant Axe, marks the start of a busy few months for the Manx.

In September the FA begin their latest Inter-League Cup campaign with a home game against the Peterborough and District League.

The following month the quadrangular tournament takes place, the Manx facing amateur sides from the Scottish, Irish and Northern Irish FAs. That tournament runs between October 11-15 in Glasgow.
