Marown progressed to the quarter-finals of the GH Corlett’s Woods Cup after defeating Onchan 4-2 at the Bowl on Wednesday evening.
Onchan had taken a first-minute lead when Jack Powell’s corner was deflected off a Marown player at the near post and into the net for an own goal.
The Crosby side equalised on 23 minutes, Andy O’Neill’s cut-back found Ashley Higginbotham who stroked home from close range.
Dave Brew’s charges took the lead for the first time 10 minutes later, Connor Gilbert scoring after being the recipient of a through-ball.
After the break, Cameron Avery nodded home Marown’s third following a Higginbotham free-kick.
Onchan did pull a goal back just before the hour mark after goalkeeper Sean Jackson brought a player down in the box. Powell made no mistake from the resulting spot-kick.
However, Marown restored their two-goal cushion and secured a place into the next round of the competition from another Higginbotham free-kick when Gilbert reacted the quickest to head home his effort at the far post to complete the scoring.
