Pulrose United won’t be fielding a side in Canada Life Combination One this season.

The South Douglas side didn’t have enough players to fulfill its opening game of the season against St Mary’s on Saturday and it was announced by the Isle of Man FA on Thursday morning that the club was pulling out of the league.

Pully first team, however, will continue in the Canada Life Premier League.

The FA statement said: ’The Isle of Man Football Association announce that unfortunately because of a shortage of registered players, Pulrose United FC will only be in a position to field one team for the 2019-20 football season.

’After an application to only enter a first team and following a number of discussions with senior committee members of Pulrose United FC the IoMFA has agreed that Pulrose will be permitted to play this season with a first team only in the Canada Life Premier League.

’It is hoped that the decision will allow Pulrose United FC time to increase their numbers and encourage players to sign for the club, so they can enter two teams for the 2020-2021 season.’
