Pulrose United will be playing in the Canada Life Premier League next season after they beat promotion rivals Malew 3-1 on Saturday to secure a top-two finish in Division Two.

Pully will have to wait to see if they go up as champions though, as Ramsey could yet overhaul them in the standings if they win both their remaining league games against Malew and Foxdale.

Player-manager Ste Priestnal put his side ahead only for Ste Collister to send the two sides into the interval at Springfield Road level.

Priestnal, however, added a second after the break, Owen Canipa wrapping up the victory and promotion with his 73rd-minute strike.

The result ends Malew’s promotion hopes, but the Ballasalla side will qualify for the end-of-season Paul Henry Gold Cup if they win their final game against Ramsey and Foxdale drop points in any of their final three fixtures against Ayre United, D and D and Ramsey.

Dale and Ramsey face a busy end to the campaign after both beat top-flight opposition to secure their places in the Hospital Cup’s semi-finals.

Antony Corkill’s goal gave Foxdale a 1-0 win over Marown, while Ramsey beat DHSOB 4-2 at Ballacloan.

Rob Moreton saw his penalty for the hosts saved by Sam Holliday, but he made amends when he put the northerners ahead in the 33rd minute.

Man of the Match Matty Montgomery doubled the second-tier side’s advantage on the stroke of half-time before Ryan Kinrade added a third early in the second half.

Old Boys pulled one back through sub Josh Evans, but Ramsey wrapped up a well-deserved win when Dylan Pickles converted a penalty.

This meant Robbie Ward’s stoppage-time penalty was nothing more than a consolation for the visitors.

In the afternoon’s other Hospital Cup tie, holders St George’s beat Douglas Athletic 5-0. Geordies host Ramsey in the semi-finals, recently crowned Premier League champions St Mary’s travelling to Foxdale.
