One of the two remaining Friends Provident International FA Cup first round ties scheduled for Saturday has already been postponed.
Ramsey’s tie with Braddan at Ballacloan has been called off. In the other game that remains on for now Corinthians host Laxey at Ballafletcher.
All four sides have struggled for game time in recent weeks, none more so than Laxey who haven’t played for six weeks after being hit by a spate of call-offs.
The last time these pair met in the league back in September, Corinthians edged the points 1-0 at Glen Road.
Paul Callow’s young Miners will battle hard, but will be hampered by their rustiness in this one.
l Three Canada Life Premier League fixtures are down to be played on Saturday.
One of these is St Mary’s rearranged fixture with Rushen United from earlier in the campaign.
The match at the Bowl will count toward Railway Cup qualification, with the Spaniards still firmly in the hunt for a top-four spot.
The pair only met a few weeks ago in the reverse fixture, Rushen triumphing 5-3 at Croit Lowey.
This one should be equally as close, especially with Saints’ talisman Steven Priestnal in a rich vein of goalscoring form at the moment.
Elsewhere two of the Premier League’s stragglers - Colby and Douglas Royal - continue their search for points.
Colby host DHSOB and Royal entertain Douglas Athletic in two games that were always scheduled to be played this weekend.
Colby have faced St George’s in successive weeks and will face another tough test against Wayne Kennedy’s Old Boys.
In a quirk of the fixtures, Royal and Athletic only met in the Cup on Saturday, the Pinks cruising to a 6-0 win. Expect more of the same this week.
