The Ascot Hotel Junior Cup’s big guns all came through Saturday’s first round unscathed.
In the battle of the combi champions at Victoria Road, Combi One victors DHSOB prevailed 3-0 over second-tier counterparts Braddan thanks to a brace from Mikey Booth an injury time strike from Sam Greasley.
Fellow competition favourites St George’s are also into the next round after they defeated Governor’s Athletic 3-0 at Glencrutchery Road, while St Mary’s beat Castletown 3-1.
Second-tier side Foxdale are in the quarter-finals after they triumphed over Pulrose 4-3 in a tie that went to extra time.
St John’s and Colby are also through to the last eight after they beat Gymns and Douglas and District respectively.
In JCK Division Two, Braddan took another step towards the title with a 3-1 win at Malew. Silver Boot leader Andy Glover was joined on the scoresheet against his former club by Joe Andrews and Stuart Pacey. The result means the Swans now trail leaders Douglas Royal by seven points with four games in hand over their title rivals.
Douglas and District recorded their biggest away win of the season beating bottom side Michael United 7-1.
