Marown picked up their first win of the Canada Life Premier League season on Tuesday evening.

The Crosby side edged out Douglas Royal 3-2 to land their maiden three points of the campaign.

A brace from Harry Barton and a Tom Hughes goal direct from a corner cancelled out two strikes from Sam Baines.

The day’s wet weather meant only three of the evening’s other scheduled games went ahead.

Danny Lane struck in each half to give Peel a 2-1 win over St John’s United in the western derby at Douglas Road.

Andrew Chadwick set up a tense final 15 minutes for the Sunset City side in the top-flight encounter, but the Johnners couldn’t find a second goal.

There was late drama, however, at the Bowl as Laxey rescued a deserved point at St Mary’s.

Steven Priestnal gave the Saints a slender lead at the break, which Frank Jones doubled just after the hour mark.

Laxey, however, came back strongly and Max Murley pulled one back before recent signing from DHSOB, Ryan Gartland, opened his account for the Miners with four minutes left on the clock.

The only other game to go ahead saw Corinthians continue their 100 per cent start to the Combination One season with a 5-0 win over Ayre United.

Calum Campbell bagged a hat-trick for the Whites how haven’t lost in the league since December 2018.

Josh Ridings and Phil Kelly netted the Ballafletcher outfit’s other two goals.

The mid-week action continues in JCK Division Two and Combination Two on Wednesday evening.
