Reigning Canada Life Premier League champions St George’s have gone top of the fledgling top-flight standings after a 14-0 win over Douglas Athletic.

Furo Davies continued his recent good run of form with a four-goal haul. Davies’ scoring feats were matched by Ciaran McNulty who was joined on the scoresheet by Joey Morling (2), Frank Jones (2), Calum Morrissey and an own goal.

Corinthians are level on points with Geordies after they edged past a spirited Laxey 1-0 thanks to Danny Gerrard’s 79th minute deflected strike.

Peel picked up their second win in as many matches, beating St Mary’s 2-1 at the Bowl.

Lee Gale gave the westerners the lead before Sammy Gelling pulled one back from the hosts.

Summer signing Shaun Kelly grabbed the game’s decisive goal midway through the second half to move Peel up the table.

Braddan continued their promising start to life in the top flight after promotion last season with a 4-2 win over Ramsey, while last year’s Division Two runners-up Douglas Royal picked up their first point in a draw with Colby.

In Division Two, Castletown won a heated southern derby with Malew 4-3.

Town had two send off (Tommy Doherty and Rich Foden) and Malew Dean Kinley in a match that saw the goals rain in during the second-half.

Alex Crawley gave Town the lead in time added on at the end of the first half.

Kieran Krypner levelled for Malew at the start of the second period before Crawley edged Town ahead from the penalty spot.

Crawley completed his hat-trick to give his side a two-goal cushion, but Malew weren’t finished as Dale Walker pulled a goal back before fellow signing from Pulrose Darren Flanagan leveled things once again.

There was still time for more drama as Ash Sansbury grabbed an 82nd minute winner for Town.

Fellow promotion contenders RYCOB beat Onchan 3-1 thanks to goals from Harry Weatherill, Tony Bayle and Steven Grose.

A Ste Glover-inspired Pulrose grabbed another good win beating Gymns 6-1, while at Noble’s Park Douglas and District scored a fine 5-2 victory over Ayre United.

Marown were Division Two’s other winners beating Governor’s Athletic 6-2.
