The Miners’ defeat coupled with second-bottom Castletown’s 4-3 victory over Douglas Royal, thanks to goals from Jack Camarda, Luca Simmons, Conor Garrett and Jamie Cadwallader, means the Glen Road side are now six points adrift at the foot of the standings.
Marown finished the match with nine men after Lewis Brew and Alex McQuarrie were sent off, while Laxey’s Matty Wilkinson was also sent for an early bath by referee James Turpin after picking up two bookings.
The glimmer of hope for Laxey is that they still have to play Castletown and St John’s in their remaining four league games as they aim to avoid the drop to JCK Division Two at the end of the season.
Peel took advantage of St Mary’s week off to move back to the head of the Premier League standings after a 4-2 win over Douglas Athletic.

St George’s had to come from behind to beat St John’s 5-3 at Mullen-e-Cloie to consolidate their position in third.
In JCK Division Two, RYCOB moved level on points with leaders Pulrose after they beat Foxdale 4-2 thanks to goals from Jason Craine (2), Dylan Parish and Lewis Moran. The latter was also sent off.
Pully stay top on goal difference after they drew 2-2 with Ramsey.
Onchan's feint Paul Henry Gold Cup hopes took a blow as they lost 4-3 at Ayre United, Dean Tate and Jamie Callister both scoring braces.
Colby continued their good recent form with a 2-1 at Union Mills, while Douglas and District scored an impressive 4-0 victory over Gymns.
The second tier’s bottom two had to settle for a share of the points, Governor’s Athletic drawing 3-3 with Michael United at Bemahague.
