Rushen United picked up the club’s 10th Canada Life Combination One crown on Wednesday evening with a 5-0 win at nearest rivals DHSOB.

Club stalwart Andy Moody bagged a brace, joining Ryan Crawley, Jack Saxon and Craig Murphy on the scoresheet in the match that saw three sent off.

The Spaniards are now 10 points clear of last year’s champions Old Boys with only a couple of games left to play.

Laxey warmed up for Sunday’s Ascot Hotel Junior Cup semi-final with Old Boys with a 2-1 win at St Mary’s thanks to strikes from goalkeeper turned goalscorer Andy Ball and Jeremy Lovett.

Elsewhere in Combi One, second-bottom Braddan picked up a good 4-0 win at St John’s while Douglas Athletic edged a 13-goal thriller with Douglas Royal 7-6.
