Rushen United dropped their first points of the top-flight season at Croit Lowey on Saturday.

Steven Priestnal’s 88th-minute free-kick ensured St Mary’s made the trip to back to Douglas with a point after the two sides played out a 3-3 draw in Port Erin.

Goals from Dan Hattersley, against his former club, and Furo Davies looked to have put the Spaniards on course for a sixth straight win of the Canada Life Premier League campaign.

However, goals from Sammy Gelling and the ever-green Priestnal ensured the pair entered the half-time break at 2-2.

Matty Lamb edged the hosts back ahead at the start of the second period, but a lovely set-piece from Priestnal ensured a share of the spoils for Peter Langridge’s Bowl outfit.

Corinthians took advantage of United’s slip to go clear top of the fledgling standings.

Blane Slattery’s Whites battled past Marown 2-1 thanks to an own goal and a strike from Kane Ridings made it six out of six for the Ballafletcher side who had six away with the FC Isle of Man squad.

St George’s remain third in the standings after a 4-0 victory over Douglas Royal, while Peel’s slow start to the term continued as they were beaten 1-0 away at DHSOB.

Elsewhere, Douglas Athletic came from behind to edge out Ramsey 2-3 at Ballacloan, while Ayre United won by the same scoreline away at bottom side St John’s United.

In JCK Division Two, RYCOB ended pacesetters’ Union Mills’ perfect start to the campaign with an impressive 4-2 win in the north.

Jon Lund, Nick Hurt and Jason Craine (2) were on target for Youthie, who raced into a three-goal lead. Jordan Crawley and Colm Garrity netted for the Millers who remain two points clear at the top despite the defeat.

Colby’s fine start to Charlie Omar’s tenure continued with a 4-1 victory over Foxdale. The win keeps the Moonlighters hot on the tail of Mills as things tighten up at the head of the division.

Onchan edged past in-form Douglas and District 5-3, while there were goals galore at Clagh Vane as Malew triumphed over Governor’s Athletic 7-2.

The afternoon’s other two games saw wins for Michael United and Braddan who beat Castletown and Gymns 2-1 and 3-1 respectively.

Reports from Rushen, St George’s, RYCOB and Gymns in Tuesday’s Examiner.
