St Mary’s marched on in the Ascot Hotel Junior Cup on Sunday.

The Saints, who will clinch the Canada Life Combination One title if they beat DHSOB on Wednesday evening, overcame last year’s Combi One champions Rushen United 7-2 at Croit Lowey.

On target for the Bowl outfit were Jordan Cooper (2), Luke Booth (2), Jamie Skillen, Joe Bergquist and Antony Bayle.

Holders Old Boys, who St Mary’s will meet in the quarter-finals, overcame Douglas Athletic 4-2, Mikey Booth netting a hat-trick for the Blackberry Lane club. Dean France bagged the Blues other goal, while Lee Gartland and Drew Ward both scored against their former club for the Pinks.

Combination Two Douglas and District caused an upset of sorts as they beat Combi One Braddan 5-0.

On target as the club reached the last eight for only the second time in its history were the prolific Mark Quirk (3), Owen Stewart and Konrad Kumor.

D and D will host Corinthians in the next round after the Whites edged past Ballafletcher neighbours Douglas Royal 2-1 after extra time.

Strikes from Adam McCullough and Phil Kelly cancelled out Dom Smith’s strike for Royal.

Union Mills and Onchan will also fly the Combi Two flag in the last-eight stage.

Mills beat Foxdale 6-1, while Onchan triumphed 4-0 at Combi One Marown thanks to goals from Billy Coulter (2), Josh Dunn and Sam Greasley.

The Millers travel to Laxey in the next round, the Miners having scored a 7-1 win over Ayre United.

St George’s lie in wait for Onchan after they were given a walkover in their tie with St John’s.
