St Mary’s scooped a Canada Life Player of the Month awards double in the Premier League during November.

Karl Clark clinched the senior Player of the Month award while his talented team-mate Jordan Cooper picked up the Young Player of the Month accolade.

Centre-back Clark was a key figure for the Bowl outfit as the Saints recovered from a poor start to the season with some promising performances under the guidance of new player/manager Alex Harrison, helping his side claim seven points from their four games during the month.

As such, the experienced defender impressed Eric Clague’s ratings panel and garnered a fine total of 8.5 points for the month, putting him 1.5 clear of runner-up Rhys Oates.

The latter man also enjoyed a good month as he played a pivotal role in Rick Holden’s St John’s resurgence, most notably grabbing a goal as the Mullen-e-Cloie side very nearly pulled off a shock victory over defending champions St George’s when two late goals salvaged a point for Geordies.

As such, the St John’s attacker now leads the overall standings for the 2017-18 season some 4.5 points ahead of both Clark and St George’s striker Ciaran McNulty, although the latter has several games in hand on the pair.

Completing the top three in the November monthly standings is Douglas Athletic targetman Martin Cowan who helped the Pinks record three successive wins during the month - scoring in each - to drag the Springfield Road side away from the relegation zone.

His score of six points trebled his seasonal total and places him inside the top 20 overall.

He was only half a mark in front of the aforementioned Cooper who, at the age of 18, has a bright future ahead of him in the Manx game.

Like Clark, he played a key role in inspiring the St Mary’s revival, in particular helping himself to a brace as the Saints saw off the challenge of Ramsey at the Bowl.

As such, Cooper picked up the Young Player of the Month award for November.

Completing the top five is Cooper’s St Mary’s team-mate Conor Birch who continues the Saints domination in the monthly standings.

Much like his namesake, Jordan Crawley was in fine form during November, grabbing a brace during the Saints’ 6-0 hammering of Ramsey to help steer his side clear of the dreaded drop zone.

As such, he just missed out on a place in the top five for November, finishing the month on 4.5 points alongside DHSOB’s talented defender Luke Doherty, ex-Old Boys and current Douglas Athletic midfield menace Lee Ford and St John’s talent Harry Rothwell.

Then come a scutch of players all on four points apiece, namely Chris Caine (Braddan), Rushen duo Alex Maitland and Mike Williams, Laxey’s Stan Manning, Sean Quaye (St George’s) and Douglas Athletic’s Daniel Sherry.
