A reduced Canada Life Premier League programme of only three games provies the fodder for the latest Team of the Week.

Eight of the line-up make their seasonal bow in the side having impressed in Saturday’s slimmed-down fixture list.

The top-flight’s top individual scorer at the weekend was Laxey’s Joe Walters who netted four in his side’s 6-1 victory at Ramsey.

Player of the Day Walters lines up in attack for his third TotW call-up of the campaign alongside St Mary’s talisman Ste Priestnal and Douglas Athletic targetman Martin Cowan.

Priestnal netted a hat-trick as the Saints beat Braddan 6-0 at Victoria Road to pick up their first away win of the season.

Cowan was also on target as he helped the Pinks continue their good recent run.

Athletic triumphed 1-3 at Colby to pick up their fourth win on the bounce.

Cowan’s team-mate Daniel Sherry slots into an attack-minded four-man midfield.

Sherry was also on the scoresheet in DAFC’s triumph at the Station Ground Fields.

St Mary’s Connor Birch also had his shooting boots on on Saturday, netting in the Saints’ big win at Braddan.

Completing the midfield ranks are another couple of TotW first-timers.

Laxey youngsters Stan Manning and Matty Wilkinson both impressed the Team of the Week selectors during their side’s victory in the north, the latter ahead of skippering the Isle of Man FA’s under-18 side this weekend.

The side features a three-man rearguard which is made up of players from three different clubs.

Douglas Athletic’s Stuart Monks was one of the Springfield Road side’s stand-out performers at the weekend.

He lines up at the back with St Mary’s Karl Clark, who helped the Saints to a second clean sheet of the campaign, and Colby’s Ashley Blake who produced a dogged display as the southerners slipped to a 1-3 defeat.

Claiming the number one jersey this week is Blake’s Colby team-mate Adam Kinvig.

The youngster was Man of the Match as he produced several fine saves to restrict a Douglas Athletic side that had been averaging five goals a game in recent weeks to three.

Referee honours go to James Turpin for the first time this season after he shone with the whistle during Laxey’s victory over second-bottom Ramsey.
