The 23rd and final Isle of Man Newspapers’ Team of the Week of the 2020-21 league season features another four debutants.

One such player is Corinthians goalkeeper Adam Killey who dons the number one jersey after a commanding performance against St John’s in which he produced several fine saves in the second half to seal the Saints’ relegation from the Premier League.

The other three debutants all feature in a traditional four-man defence in the latest hypothetical XI, namely Jack Christian, Johnny Myers and Dean France.

Christian enjoyed a fine game for Ramsey as the northerners went down fighting at home to Peel on Saturday, while France rolled back the years for DHSOB with a good display at left-back during the Blackberry Lane outfit’s excellent 4-1 victory against Laxey.

Myers produced a typically good performance in the heart of the St George’s defence and won most of his aerial duels during his side’s 4-2 win away at Ayre United.

Also slotting into the TotW defence for the fifth time this season is Karl Clark who impressed for St Mary’s during their match against Rushen United.

Another to impress in that game at Croit Lowey was Jack Camarda who maintained his recent run of good form with a starring role for the Spaniards, grabbing a goal in a 3-2 victory in Port Erin.

He lines up in a three-man midfield alongside DHSOB’s Gary Quirk and Corinthians star Stephen Whitley. Quirk has looked back to his best since the end of the latest lockdown and shone during Old Boys’ aforementioned victory over Laxey.

Whitley has undoubtedly been one of the standout players this season and racked up his seventh Team of the Week appearance of the campaign with another fine display - particularly in the second half - for the Whites against St John’s.

Another player who had had a fine 2020-21 is Mike Williams who once again starred for Rushen United on Saturday and duly lines up in a three-pronged attack for his sixth TotW outing this season.

Joining him up front is Nathan Cardy and Charlie Higgins after the youngsters shone for St George’s and Peel respectively.

Cardy continued his fine run of form with a two-goal salvo against Ayre United, a feat that was replicated by Higgins who grabbed an 89th-minute winner for his side against Ramsey.
