It’s as you were at the top of the Canada Life Premier League after St George’s and Corinthians both won on Saturday afternoon.

Leaders Geordies were below par but still maintained their 100 per cent winning start to the season after goals from Furo Davies, Calum Morrissey and Frank Jones sealed a 3-1 win over St Mary’s.

In the Ballafletcher derby Corinthians priced too strong for newly-promoted Douglas Royal as goals from Ryan Burns, Darryl Haslett, Danny Oram, Stephen Whitley and Dan Simpson ensured a comfortable 5-0 win.

Peel made a winning return to their spiritual home in Douglas Road as they brushed aside Laxey 6-1.

Lee Gale led the way with a brace and was joined on the scoresheet by Dominic McGreevy, Ryan Holdaway, Adam Cregeen and Marc Kelly.

Colby were the biggest winners in the top flight as they thrashed Ramsey 7-1 at the Station Fields. The undoubted star of the show was Danny Lane who helped himself to a four-goal haul and he was joined on the scoresheet by Jim Collett, Adam Fretwell and David Thomas.

Elsewhere Rushen United got the better of St John’s 3-0 at Mullen-e-Cloie, Jack Saxon, Craig Murphy and Willians grabbing the goals, while David Quirk’s strike was enough for DHSOB to see off the challenge of Douglas Athletic.

The shock result of the day was in JCK Division Two where Governor’s Athletic triumphed over previous leaders Castletown by the odd goal in seven.

That result means that RYCOB are now the new leaders after they defeated Michael United 6-1, in-form Tony Bayle leading the way with a hat-trick for the northerners.

Foxdale are second in the table after they confidently dispatched Malew 5-1, while a Stephen Glover hat-trick helped Pulrose United come from behind to beat Union Mills 5-3 at Springfield Road.

Elsewhere a Graeme Lyons brace helped Onchan beat Douglas and District 4-0, while Ayre United recorded a 3-1 victory at home to bottom-of-the-table Gymns.
