The debuts continue to come thick and fast in Isle of Man Newspapers’ Team of the Week, with seven more in the latest selection.

There could only be one choice for donning the goalkeeper gloves in the fourth hypothetical XI of the fledgling season, as Douglas Athletic shot-stopper Adam Kinvig stole the show on Saturday.

The Pinks number one played a starring role as his side defeated DHSOB at Springfield Road, pulling off the extremely feat of scoring two goals as well as setting up another for Martin Cowan.

Therefore, he earns his second Team of the Week call-up of the season already and duly captains the side.

Also impressing in that game was Johnny Knowles who produced a solid performance at the back for DAFC as they saw off Old Boys to move up to seventh in the table.

Joining him in a traditional four-man backline is Corinthians’ Stewart Smith, Ayre United’s Jamie Callister and Rushen United’s Adam Cooil.

Smith was one of the Whites’ standout performers as he helped his side overcome the stubborn resilience of Laxey at Ballafletcher to earn his first TotW selection of the campaign.

Callister produced another fine showing for Ayre during their come-from-behind victory against Marown in Andreas, while Cooil’s strong start to the 2020-21 season continued with a good display during the Spaniards’ high-scoring victory away at Douglas Royal.

Leading the way in the latter game at Ballafletcher was Ryan Crawley who delivered a man-of-the-match performance with a hat-trick to sink the Whites, therefore he takes his place in a midfield quartet.

On the adjacent pitch at Ballafletcher, the star of the show was Danny Gerrard who shone for Corinthians in their hard-fought win over Laxey, scoring the pick of the goals with a long-range piledriver.

Joining Crawley and Gerrard in the TotW midfield are Ayre United star Johnny Shields and St George’s talent Sid Batty. Shields ran the show in the second half for the Tangerines to help his side overturn a 2-1 half-time deficit into a 4-2 victory which moved the northerners up to eighth in the table.

Batty warmed up for this weekend’s FC Isle of Man match in Guernsey with a strong goal-scoring display against Peel at Douglas Road in his side’s 5-2 win.

There’s a distinctly old school feel to the Team of the Week frontline which features two stars who have racked up in excess of 600 in the Premier League since its inception. The duo in question is St George’s striker Ciaran McNulty and his St Mary’s counterpart Ste Priestnal who both rolled back the years on Saturday.

McNulty starred with a decisive hat-trick for Geordies during their away win at rivals Peel, while Priestnal bagged a brace - including one strike from the halfway line - as Mary’s pulled off a dramatic last-gasp win versus St John’s.
