Peel’s Dan Simpson makes it a fantastic five appearances in Team of the Week after impressing for the westerners on Saturday.

The former Corinthians winger bagged a brace as Steve Falconer’s side edged past Premier League rivals Rushen United to claim the latest Old Firm bragging rights.

Also impressing in the Sunset City outfit’s 3-2 win at Douglas Road was Peel team-mate Dominic McCreevy and Rushen skipper Ste Riding.

McCreevy stood-out in the heart of the westerners’ backline, while midfielder Riding capped a good performance for the Spaniards with a goal to land his fourth TotW stripes of the term.

Slotting in alongside McCreevy in the hypothetical XI’s back-three is Douglas Athletic’s James Aire and Ramsey’s Dylan Pickles.

The latter pair were both in action at Springfield Road as Athletic triumphed 2-1 to pick up their fifth win of the top-flight campaign.

Aire has been one of the Pinks most consistent performers this term and makes it into TotW for the fourth time this season.

Pickles grabbed a goal and did well at the back for the northerners as he secured a first TotW spot.

In midfield Riding is joined by Stephen Cowan, Sam Baines and Kane Ridings.

Cowan was Man of the Match as he bagged a winning brace in Douglas Athletic’s win over Ramsey.

Talented youngster Baines stood out at Glen Road as his Douglas Royal side went down 5-3 to Laxey in a topsy-turvy encounter in the east.

Michael Fitzmaurice’s youngsters pushed their higher-ranked opponents all the way despite having to play two thirds of the match with 10 men after Craig Dolman’s sending off.

Ridings was one of DHSOB’s main tormentors as Corinthians racked up a 7-2 win at Ballafletcher.

Scoring four of those seven goals was Golden Boot holder Sean Doyle who makes up a three-pronged attack with Simpson and Calum Morrissey who netted a hat-trick as St George’s beat Marown 7-1.

There was stiff competition for the TotW’s number one jersey with Peel’s Andy Ball, DAFC’s Adam Kinvig and Royal’s Harry Horbury all mentioned in dispatches.

Getting the nod for a third time this season though, is Laxey’s Rob Slinger who produced several top-drawer saves to help earn his side all the points at Glen Road.

Referee of the Week honours go to Ant Page for a second time this season after he did well in the middle as Peel beat Rushen United.
