There’s and interesting mix of league and cup games for second division teams this weekend.

The three outstanding quarter-final matches in the GH Corlett Woods Cup will hopefully finally go ahead this weekend after being hit by the recent bad weather.

The draw has thrown up several intriguing clashes, most notably Union Mills v Castletown and Foxdale v Marown.

JCK Division Two league leaders Town will start the match at Garey Mooar as favourites to progress and continue their quest for a league and cup treble, but the Stadium outfit will need to guard against complacency versus a side which has beaten Malew and RYCOB in recent weeks.

It’s difficult to call a winner in the clash between Foxdale and Marown, with the two sides in fine form at the moment as they chase down Castletown in the league. Expect a tight game which could go all the way.

The third quarter-final should be a more one-sided affair as free-scoring Pulrose United will start as overwhelming favourites against lowly Michael United, but again they will need to be wary of complacency.

There are also two games scheduled in JCK Division Two, with Onchan knowing a win at Groves Road against Ayre United would move them up to second, while Douglas and District will be hoping to push Malew all the way.
