The Isle of Man FA’s under-18 side travel to the North West at the end of this week for a three-game tour.

The games against academy sides from professional clubs Oldham and Wigan, plus non-league Barrow continue the squad’s preparations for October’s FA County Youth Cup tie in Shropshire.

Head coach Lewis Qualtrough has named a 22-man squad for the trip, nearly half of which featured in last season’s run to the Youth Cup quarter-finals.

Oldham Athletic kick things off on Friday afternoon, before a potential reunion with Wigan Athletic’s former St George’s youngster Adam Long on Saturday morning.

A trip to Cumbria and Conference Premier outfit Barrow rounds off the tour on Sunday afternoon.

The games will give Qualtrough and coaches Paul Bridson and Steve Burns further chance to hone their selection after a home friendly against Welsh club’s Rhyl Town’s under-19s earlier this month.

The Shropshire tie is due to take place on Sunday, October 14, with Shrewsbury Town’s New Meadow ground is among the places being considered to host the game.
