Elsewhere in the opening round of the FPI FA Cup, Malew will have their sights on a possible ’cupset’ against Premier League side DHSOB this Saturday afternoon.

The southerners are currently flying high in second place in JCK Division Two and, with promotion to the top flight a possibility, they will be hoping to gauge their progress against their more illustrious opponents.

Cal Alexander’s Clagh Vane outfit go into the clash in better form than Old Boys who have suffered defeats at the hands of Castletown and Marown in recent weeks, so a shock could be possible.

That being said, Liam Buckley’s Old Boys side has the quality to go on a decent cup run and will be hoping to use home advantage to get past this weekend’s potential banana skin.

League leaders Peel will be favourites to comfortably see off the challenge of Marown at Douglas Road and should have too much firepower for the Crosby outfit, but Dave Brew’s men should not be discounted.

Bottom-of-the-table Laxey will welcome a distraction from their league woes but they face a tough task to get the better of a Douglas Athletic side enjoying a fine season in the top flight, so expect a Pinks win.

The final game in the FA Cup sees an all-Division Two affair between leaders Pulrose United and Gymns at Springfield Road.

While the visitors are a tricky side on their day, the Reds should prove too strong and should book their place in the next round of the competition.

Games kick off at 1.45pm.
