Peel clinched second place in the Canada Life Premier League table thanks to a resounding 8-1 victory over Braddan on Saturday.

Shaun Kelly and Billy Kennaugh led the way for the westerners as they both helped themselves to hat-tricks and were joined on the scoresheet by Matty Skillicorn and Matty Woods.

There was also goals galore at Groves Road where Laxey edged St Mary’s by the odd goal in 11 in a game switched from the Bowl because of the Manx Youth Games.

Nathan Halsall and Steven Priestnal were both at the double and joined Jordan Crawley amongst the scorers for the Saints, but a hat-trick from Stanley Manning plus a Harry Walters brace and a single Joe Walters strike sealed a dramatic win for the Miners in their final game of the season.

The destination of the JCK Division Two title is no clearer after Marown claimed a last-gasp equaliser against leaders Castletown.

In a game switched to Ballafletcher, already-promoted Town went into the game knowing a win would seal the league title, while victory for Marown would put them in pole position.

Connor Gilbert gave the Crosby side a first-half lead only for Jamie Cadwallader to equaliser for Town early in the second half.

After Kiran Collister had a goal disallowed for Castletown, Stuart Morris restored Marown’s league in fine style before Alex Crawley restored parity again from the penalty spot.

Ciaran Brown looked to have won it for Castletown when he made it 3-2 inside the last 10 minutes, however Marown stunned the southerners when Ashley Higginbotham levelled for Marown in injury time to claim a 3-3 draw.

The point means Marown remain six points adrift of Castletown who have finished their fixtures and, with Dave Brew’s men having games left against Onchan and Governor’s Athletic, a plus 10-goal swing would seal the title on goal difference.

Elsewhere in the second division, Pulrose United moved up to second - for the time being at least - thanks to a 4-0 win at Michael United. Barry English was the star of the show for Pully as he bagged a hat-trick, while Craig Cowin completed the scoring.
