The debuts continue to come thick and fast in the 12th Isle of Man Newspapers Team of the Week of the Canada Life Premier League season.
Six make their seasonal bow in the island’s favourite hypothetical XI after impressing in Saturday afternoon’s five top-flight games.
St George’s marked 100 years since the club’s formation with a thrilling 4-3 win over fellow title-chasers Corinthians.
Two of the Glencrutchery Road outfit’s stalwarts stood out in that match to earn a place in this week’s line-up.
Centre-back Johnny Myers slots into the side for the second successive week after he shone as Chris Bass Sr’s men battled back from 0-2 down to take the win.
Instrumental in securing the three points was Myers’s team-mate Calum Morrissey.
The ’Shire’ only returned from a short spell at Michael United recently, but showed some of his old form to rejuvenate his side after being introduced as a substitute.
Morrissey is joined in the TotW’s attacking ranks by fellow 2019-20 debutant Danny Lane, plus Rushen’s Ryan Crawley and St Mary’s Tom Weir.
Peel youngster Lane grabbed a match-winning brace as the westerners saw off a stubborn Ramsey 2-1 at Douglas Road.
Crawley was also at the double as Rushen kept up their own title tilt with a 2-0 win over Marown.
Weir went one better as he grabbed a hat-trick for the league leaders as the midfielder was pressed further forward in the Bowl outfit’s 8-0 victory over bottom side Pulrose United.
Weir’s team-mate Jack McVey slots into a two-man midfield alongside November Player of the Month Greg Norris.
McVey looks well on course to retain the Gordon Clague Football Writers’ award after impressing in the South Douglas derby to earn his eighth TotW stripes of the season.
Recent Rushen signing Norris has caught the eye since moving to the island and racks up his third TotW outing of the season after doing well against Marown.
Joining Myers in defence are two more players making their first TotW outings of the season.
Old Boys duo Ollie Taylor and Tommy Miller make up the back four with Rushen’s Alex Maitland.
Left back Taylor and centre-back Miller were key copponents as Liam Buckley’s side scored a fine 3-4 away win at Laxey.
Maitland’s fine start to the season continued as he helped his side to shut out Marown.
Claiming the gloves this week is Ramsey goalkeeper Tom Moffatt who returned to the Ballacloan line-up with an impressive all-round performance against Peel after a spell at college in the United States.
Referee of the Week for the first time this season is Peter Greenhill who shone with the whistle as Geordies triumphed 4-3 over Corinthians.
