The Isle of Man FA’s men’s team has won its first ever NatWest Island Games gold medal, after beating Greenland 6-0 in Friday’s final.

Corinthians duo Dan Simpson and Sean Doyle both grabbed two goals a piece in the rout, joining skipper Frank Jones and Ciaran McNulty on the scoresheet.

Michael Quilliam’s women’s team couldn’t quite match the feats of their male counter-parts losing the day’s women’s final 2-1 to Gotland.

Jade Burden’s goal gave the Manx the lead but two late strikes from the hosts, including one for the penalty spot, gave them the win.
