Douglas High School Old Boys’ recent upturn in form will face a stern test on Saturday when they travel to Ballafletcher to face Corinthians.

The Canada Life Premier League clash should be a close one with both sides eyeing a place in the top-four’s Railway Cup spots.

After two defeats, Liam Buckley’s side hit both Douglas Royal and Laxey for six last week and will travel to the Whites in confident mood. Buckley will, however, be hoping to have a few bodies back to bolster his squad with Callum and Craig Stewart both missing last weekend’s win over the Miners and Tommy Miller still off-island.

Corinthians had to work hard to overcome DAFC last week, but should have enough to edge this one and avoid a repeat of last season when they lost the corresponding fixture 0-2.

Unbeaten St Mary’s will be looking to maintain their place at the top of the pile when they travel to promoted Marown. The small Crosby pitch will be a leveller, but the Saints should wrap up the points.

The only other side to not taste defeat thus far this campaign are reigning champions St George’s.

Despite a summer of flux Chris Bass Sr’s outfit have made a solid start to the term, which they should extend at Laxey this week.

John Palmer’s young Miners were poor against DHSOB and will need some defensive reinforcements if they are to avoid being sucked into the battle to beat the drop.

Rushen United will look to bounce back from last week’s defeat at the hands of St Mary’s when they host Douglas Athletic.

The Pinks have made a encouraging start, but will do well to return from Port Erin with any points.

The final game of the day sees the latest running of what is probably one of the most played fixtures in Manx football - Castletown v Peel. The latter will start as favourites for this one.
