Braddan could complete a league and cup treble this weekend when they take on Onchan in the final of this season’s Paul Henry Gold Cup.

Having already won the GH Corlett Woods Cup last month against Castletown, the Swans should have clinched the JCK Division Two title last night - they were due to play Gymns at the time of going to press where a point would have sealed the title. Therefore, they could round off a memorable season with yet more silverware at the Bowl on Sunday afternoon.

Standing in their way though is an Onchan side playing in their first senior final for more than 20 years and for the first time in the Gold Cup final since the competition was formed in the late 1980s.

Braddan will go into the match as favourites to clinch the treble having seen off the challenge of rivals Douglas Royal in the semi-finals.

However, Will Smith will be without leading goalscorer Andy Glover whose season has been curtailed after a serious injury. Other than that, the Swans have a full squad to chose from, as have Onchan although captain Mark Rees only returns from holiday on Sunday so may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Onchan will certainly be no pushovers, as illustrated by the fact that they stunned the Division Two leaders only last week by beating them 2-0 at Victoria Road thanks to goals from Josh Brockbank and Kraig Marsh.

Expect an intriguing game at the Bowl which could go either way. KO 3pm.
