Peel made it three successive wins in the Canada Life Premier League with a hard-fought 3- victory over Douglas Athletic on Saturday afternoon.
On a day when bad weather affected fixtures all over the island, only two games went ahead in the top flight.
Peel took the lead through Ashley Webster but the Pinks equalised in the second half as they threatened to claim a surprise point at the Station Fields.
However, Matthew Woods restored his side’s lead when he turned home the rebound after Webster’s initial strike had been saved by Matthew Quirk.
Athletic’s cause was not helped when they were reduced to nine men in quick succession, the first of which led to Webster scoring from the penalty spot to seal a 3-1 win for the Sunset City side.
The match between DHSOB v Corinthians was switched from Blackberry Lane to the Bowl at 5pm, while the relegation clash between Union Mills v Colby and the battle between Ramsey v St Mary’s at Ballacloan were both called off.
In JCK Division Two, Governor’s Athletic claimed an impressive point at home to Gymns at Bemahague, Kieron McCann grabbed the goal for the hosts while Jordan Cooper netted the visitors’ strike.
The other second division saw Pulrose United romped to a landslide victory at home to RYCOB at Springfield Road.
Barry English and Darren Flanagan were Youthie’s chief tormentors as they both grabbed a hat-trick apiece while Peter Dunn rolled back the years to help himself to a brace. Rob Moreton scored the northerners’ consolation strike with an audacious lob.
