The battle for promotion intensifies this weekend when two of the sides battling for supremacy in JCK Division Two go head-to-head on Saturday afternoon.

The game in question sees fourth-placed Ramsey make the long journey south to take on a Malew side that sits one place and one point better off in third.

The teams lie just outside the two promotion places but have games in hand over both leaders Pulrose United and second-placed RYCOB, therefore there’s a lot at stake in this clash.

Home advantage probably just about sways the odds in Malew’s favour but the northerners go into the match in fractionally better form, having claimed 16 points from their last 18 as opposed to Malew’s 15. This one could go either way.

Leaders Pully face a potentially tricky tie at home to a rejuvenated Ayre United, but Ste Priesntal’s men should prevail, as should Youthie who travel to Tromode to take on Gymns.

Should Ayre and Gymns drop points, then resurgent Colby could leapfrog the latter and go level with the Tangerines if they get the better of Douglas and District at the Station Fields, although D&D should not be taken lightly at all.

Onchan will be favourites to keep their faint top-four hopes alive when they welcome bottom-of-the-table Governor’s Athletic to the Nivison Stadium in a derby match which the Os should win, while the final game sees Union Mills make the journey northwest to take on Michael United at Balleira Road.
