There’s a slimmed-down Canada Life Premier League programme this Saturday, with only three top-flight games taking place.
Call-ups to the Isle of Man FA’s under-18 squad that is heading to Norfolk this weekend has meant the postponements of St George’s trip to Douglas Athletic and St Mary’s match with Douglas Royal.
Taking top billing of the three that do go ahead is the match at the Stadium between Castletown and Marown.
The two promoted sides hover just above the CLPL’s relegation spot, Marown on three points and Town on six, the latter having played a game more.
The pair were due to meet only a couple of weeks ago at the Memorial Playing Fields, but a waterlogged pitched forced that one to be called off.
Douglas Royal, who currently occupy the division’s ejector seat, also have three points to their name but have played two games more than those around them.
A positive result for either Town or Marown would give them a valuable cushion at the bottom.
Laxey also find themselves in the relegation mix after a run of one win from their opening nine games.
They face another tough test on Saturday when they travel to title-chasing Peel who are the division’s in-form team.
The top flight’s other match also takes place in the west as St John’s United host Rushen United at Mullen-e-Cloie.
The Johnners picked up a surprise point against Railway Cup semi-finalists Corinthians last week, but the Spaniards should start as favourites having won their last three, including the reverse fixture two weeks ago.
