Away from the FA Cup and Woods Cup, there are five games taking place across the Canada Life Premier League and JCK Division Two on Saturday.

The standout fixture in the top flight is arguably at Blackberry Lane where DHSOB and Laxey lock horns.

The sides currently lie seventh and eighth in the league table, with Old Boys three points clear of the Miners but having played one game more.

The other two games in the Premier League this weekend feature teams battling for survival.

Bottom-of-the-table Ramsey face a tough test at home to St John’s but, having claimed a potentially vital win against Douglas Athletic recently, they may fancy another upset.

It could be a difficult day also for Douglas Royal who host Premier League heavyweights Rushen United at Ballafletcher, a game the Spaniards will be expected to win comfortably.

In the second division, RYCOB face a crucial test in their bid for promotion when they host Malew.

Pre-season title favourites Youthie have been a bit onconsistent in recent months but a win here would set them up nicely for the final furlong of the season.

The other Division Two game is a repeat of the Woods Cup quarter-finals between Ayre United and Douglas and District.

Ben Hall was the hero for D&D as his hat-trick helped the Noble’s Park outfit edge the Tangerines in a nine-goal thriller last month and they will be hoping for another three points this weekend.
