Rushen United and Corinthians marched on relentlessly at the top of the Canada Life Premier League with convincing victories on Saturday afternoon.

Leaders Rushen produced a five-star performance to see off the challenge of Laxey at Glen Road 5-0 courtesy of goals from Jamie Johnston, a brace from Ryan Crawley, Ste Riding and new signing Jack Camarda.

Title rivals Corinthians were in similar form as they put four past St George’s without reply at Ballafletcher thanks to strikes from Dan Simpson, Ste Whitley, Luke Murray and Sean Doyle.

In the north of the island, a brace from Danny Oram plus further goals from Shaun Kelly, Declan Cummins and Jamie Callister ensured the Tangerines were 5-3 winners over DHSOB in Andreas.

Douglas Royal were in impressive form as they recorded a 5-0 victory over Douglas Athletic at Ballafletcher. Sam Baines led the way for the Whites with a brace and he was joined on the scoresheet by Jamie Agnew, James Halliday and Dominic McHarrie-Brennan.

Elsewhere, there were two close games in Crosby and at the Bowl as St John’s and St Mary’s were both 1-0 winners over Marown and Ramsey respectively.

In JCK Division Two, leaders Union Mills were in rampant form as they put Douglas and District to the sword 9-0 at Noble’s Park.

But there were even more goals at nearby Victoria Road where Onchan edged an 11-goal thriller against Braddan.

Jamie Spicer (2), Geoff Murphy, Adam Phair and Matt Ogden netted for the Swansea, but a Paul Whitley brace plus goals from Josh Brockbank, Mark Wolfenden, Joe Rees and Barry English clinched a dramatic win for the Os.

Title and promotion hopefuls RYCOB thrashed Michael United 9-1 at Balleira Road, while elsewhere Gymns and Colby shared four goals in Tromode in a 2-2 draw. Luke Fisher put the hosts ahead early on before an own goal levelled matters before half-time. Another own goal followed after the break, this time in Gymns, favour but the Moonlighters hit back to claim a share of the spoils.

At Springfield Road, Castletown recorded a resounding 8-1 victory against Pulrose United. Alex Crawley led the way with a four-goal haul and there were further goals from Dave Kelly (2), Tom Moore and Ethan Peel.
