Rushen United cemented their place in the top four of the Canada Life Premier League with a thumping victory over southern rivals Colby on Saturday afternoon.
The game at the Station Fields was one of only two to go ahead in the top flight on another fixture list decimated by the poor weather.
Josh Kelly, Jack Snidal and Josh Thomas all helped themselves to braces for the Spaniards, while Jamie Johnston and Charlie Jackson completed an 8-1 win for the Croit Lowey side.
Ashley Blake netted the consolation strike for the hosts.
At the other end of the island St Mary’s claimed a 4-2 win over relegation-threatened Ramsey at Ballacloan Stadium.
Steven Priestnal led the way for the Saints as he helped himself to a brace and the Golden Boot contender was joined on the scoresheet by Brian Crellin and John Hagerdon.
Ramsey’s replies came via Ryan Kinrade and Ollie Grice as the northerners remain rooted to the foot of the table.
In JCK Division Two, Marown continued their good run of form as they saw off the spirited challenge of Douglas and District in Crosby.
There’s was no doubting the star of the show as Ashley Heginbotham scored a hat-trick to send the hosts on their way to victory, while Cameron Avery and Lewis Brew completed a 5-0 win to move up to second in the table.
There was certainly no shortage of goals at Bemahague where Gymns claimed their second league win of the season with a thrilling 6-4 victory over Governor’s Athletic.
Nick Clague starred for the visitors with a well-taken hat-trick while Adam Johnson continued his fine scoring form with a brace and was joined on the scoresheet by Steve Slack.
Strikes from Peter Callow, Rob Bell, Simon Gawne plus an own goal ensured Governor’s pushed them all the way, but in the end Gymns returned to Tromode with all three points.
A Chris Kelly brace helped Union Mills claim a hard-fought win over Malew by the odd goal in five at Clagh Vane.
Also netting for the Millers was Colm Garrity, while Dale Walker added a brace for the southerners.
