Reigning Canada Life Premier League champions St Mary’s put their 100 per cent start to the campaign on the line this Saturday against Rushen United.
Alex Harrison’s Saints have made a comfortable start to their title defence winning four from four and conceding only one goal along the way.
Rushen have also made an impressive start to the season, dropping only two points thus far and that was in a 2-2 draw with Old Firm rivals Peel.
The Spaniards claimed a hard-fought 4-3 win over Laxey last time out, and will go into this weekend’s match in Port Erin full of confidence.
United haven’t lost at home in the league in more than a year, so the Saints may have to settle for a hard-earned point on the road this time out.
St George’s boast the division’s other perfect start.
They should extend that record this weekend when they travel to Ballafletcher and Douglas Royal. The latter side have yet to register a point this campaign and sit bottom having shipped 23 goals in only three games.
This term’s surprise package, Laxey, will try and bounce back from their first dropped points of the season when they make the trip west to Peel this weekend.
The westerners have also made a solid start to the campaign winning two and drawing the other of their three matches thus far.
Laxey showed last week that they can mix it with the division’s best and may yet garner some points from a trip to a Peel side that is yet to hit top gear.
Two teams that have yet to break their ducks this camapign go head-to-head at Ballacloan on Saturday as Ramsey host Pulrose.
The northerners have had a tough reintroduction to life in the top flight and have yet to score a goal in four attempts.
Fellow promoted side Pulrose have also fallen to successive defeats so far, but have scored six goals over the same period and this might just give them the edge in this one.
Marown are another side yet to get up and running.
The Crosby outfit have lost all four of their games so far and host Corinthians this weekend in what looks like another tough game for David Brew’s charges.
Corinthians have won two of their first three games in what has been a stop-start beginning to the season for the Whites, but should triumph again on Saturday.
