The Isle of Man FA’s under-18s involvement in the FA County Youth Cup means there are only four games in the Canada Life Premier League on Saturday.
Taking top billing of those is arguably the Springfield Road derby between Douglas Athletic and Pulrose United.
The latter side currently prop up the top-flight standings having only picked up a single point from their first 10 games of the season.
The reverse fixture back in September was a high-scoring affair, Athletic taking the spoils after a 3-5 victory.
The Pinks will go into this match as slight favourites sitting, as they do, nine points ahead of Pully in the league ladder.
This will, however, be close and if Pulrose can get a full-strength team out they could move off the foot of the standings with three points.
Second-bottom Marown will be looking to put some distance between themselves and Pulrose when they travel to Laxey.
The Miners bagged a 4-0 win in the reverse fixture during the latter’s fine start to the campaign and will be confident of doing a league double over their Crosby opponents.
Having said that though Laxey haven’t played in nearly a month because of postponements and will have to guard against complacency against Dave Brew’s side.
With second-place Rushen United not in action, St Mary’s can stretch their lead at the top to six points if they beat Ramsey at the Bowl.
When the pair met at Ballacloan in September, St Mary’s came away with a 0-4 win.
Ramsey, and Jamie Moffatt in particular, have found their scoring boots in recent weeks after a meagre start to the campaign.
The Saints should, however, claim the spoils on offer in this one.
St George’s will also be favourites to add to their points haul when they welcome near-neighbours DHSOB to Glencrutchery Road.
Geordies recorded a 14-0 victory over Governor’s Athletic in the ECAP FA Cup at the weekend and should enter this match in good fettle.
Summer signing Jacob Crook is away with the IoMFA u18s, but Geordies should have enough depth to cover his loss against an Old Boys side that hasn’t played since the middle of December.
