There’s five corking matches to look forward to in the Canada Life Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
In a quirk of the fixture list, all five games take place in Douglas, two featuring four teams inside the top six.
The westerners were a little under par in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Laxey and will be hoping Lee Gale has recovered from the knock he picked up in training to play some part against the Satints.
This one will be a tight affair and the two sides might have to settle for a point apiece.
In North Douglas, St George’s, who boast the division’s only 100 per cent record, host Rushen United.
After a stop-start beginning to the campaign, the match against the Spaniards will provide Chris Bass Sr’s men with a stern test of their title credentials.
Liam Cowin’s visitors have drawn with Peel and beaten St Mary’s in recent weeks and will be well up for this match.Again though a draw looks the likely outcome.
At the foot of the standings, four teams remain on zero points.
At least one of these will break their seasonal duck this weekend as two go head-to-head.
Bottom side Marown make the trip to promoted Pulrose United with both sides yet to pick up anything for their efforts this season.
Marown have shipped 29 goals in only five games and will struggle to contain one of the Premier League’s all-time  top scorers, Steven Priestnal.
On the adjacent pitch at Springfield Road, Douglas Athletic will start at marginal favourites to inflict a fifth straight defeat on Douglas Royal.
DHSOB, who have four to their name, face the other side in the league yet to register a point in the shape of Ramsey. Not only are the northerners yet to garner a single point, but they have failed to score in four attempts.Blackberry Lane hosts Old Boys have improved in recent weeks, but have yet to win at home this term.
This one will again be a close encounter with Liam Buckley’s Blues perhaps just shading it.
