A well-known figure within Manx football is walking the TT Course this weekend to raise money for charity.

Paul Turner, who has close ties to DHSOB and stewards matches at the national stadium, will set off from the Grandstand at 9am on Saturday and will call in at various football clubs around the course.

First up will be Douglas and District who are based at Noble’s Park, before heading five miles to Marown FC’s Memorial Playing Fields ground in Crosby.

From there, Paul will continue around the course to Kirk Michael where he will stop off atMichael United’s Balleira Road clubhouse, before continuing northwards and visiting both RYCOB and Ramsey at Scoill ree Gorree and Ballacloan Stadium respectively.

After that, he will attempt to tackle the Mountain itself, before heading back through Governor’s Hill and into Douglas where he will call in at Old Boys’ Blackberry Lane ground, then Braddan and St George’s football clubs on Glencrutchery Road prior to reaching the Grandstand again.

Paul is raising money for Reach IOM, a mental health charity set up earlier this year by former footballer Adam Hudgeon which is a non-profit organisation aimed at providing support for people who are struggling.

Reach IOM commented: ’There will be a lot of people that know Paul through football and various other things - he is open about his struggles with his mental health and is at a stage where he would like to raise some money to help us. Paul is walking the TT course - that’s a huge task and a testament to how far he has come. Get behind him and show him your support people.’
