The fixtures computer has thrown up a few early Christmas crackers in JCK Division Two this weekend.

League leaders Pulrose United face a tricky trip to Garey Mooar where they face top-four hopefuls Union Mills. Paul Guiver’s Pully side will begin the game as favourites, expecially having beaten the Millers 5-3 in the reverse fixture, but will need to guard against complacency as the hosts stunned then league leaders RYCOB in October so are more than capable of winning on their day.

With games in hand on all the sides above them, Foxdale are very much right in the mix for honours this season but face a tough test of their own this Saturday when they head south to take on Malew at Clagh Vane. The home side’s recent upturn in form was abruptly ended by Marown last time out but, with the firepower at their disposal, Cal Alexander’s charges could push the challengers all the way in Ballasalla.

Three successive defeats threatened to severely hamper RYCOB’s season but the promotion and title hopefuls return to form with a 6-0 hammering of Ayre United recently and they will be hoping for more of the same at home to Michael United.

The Balleira Road have the potential to cause the northerners a few problems but Youthie should prove too strong on the day.

Joint leaders Castletown will be looking to keep up the pressure on Pulrose and will be favourites to see off the challenge of Governor’s Athletic at Bemahague. However, it won’t necessarily be straightforward for the Mets and they will be desperate to avenge the shock 4-3 defeat to the league’s newest side three months ago.

Onchan remain outside of the top four by virtue of goal difference at the moment and travel to Douglas and District who they will be expected to beat. Two seasons ago though, D&D claimed two draws against the Os plus knocked them out of the Woods Cup so they can make like difficult for their opponents on their day.

The final game sees Gymns aim to record only their second win of the season when they host Ayre.
