With the Railway Cup semi-finals taking centre stage this weekend, there are only three games scheduled in the Canada Life Premier League on Saturday.

Rushen United’s recent revival could see them move into the top three should they get the better of relegation battlers Laxey at Croit Lowey.

The Spaniards brushed aside St John’s 6-0 last time out and are now only one point behind title hopefuls Corinthians who are in cup action at Peel. Laxey are enduring a tough season and are only outside of the relegation zone by virtue of goal difference, therefore they’ll be hoping to avoid a heavy defeat this weekend.

Level on points with the Miners are Marown who welcome the aforementioned St John’s to the Memorial Playing Fields.

Marown were due to face relegation rivals Castletown last Saturday until some rogue Herbacide scuppered the match, therefore they’ll be chomping at the bit as they attempt to weed their way up the table away from the dreaded drop zone.

The Crosby outfit are currently level on points with bottom-of-the-table Douglas Royal but have a plus-20 goal difference in their favour.

The Whites welcome Douglas Athletic to Ballafletcher this weekend knowing that they need to get some more points on the board if they’re to avoid being cut adrift at the foot of the standings.

The Pinks won the reverse fixture 4-2 and they will be favourites to get back to winning ways having lost their last four in a row.
