A brace from Corinthians’ captain Jade ’The Bomber’ Burden ensured the Whites won the 19th Nedbank Floodlit Cup for a sixth time, defeating their rivals and neighbours Douglas Royal 2-1 on Sunday at the Bowl.

Royal had taken a first-half lead courtesy of a Rebecca Cole strike, however, Burden equalised before half-time before scoring the winner in the second half.

It was the eighth time these two sides have contested the final of the competition.

Player of the match award went to Corinthians’ Holly Sumner. She became the first player to retain this individual award within this competition.
