A last-gasp strike from Colby’s Amy Speed ensured the southerners secured three points in a pulsating Nedbank Women’s League encounter with Laxey at the Station Fields on Sunday.

Speed had given the southerners a half-time lead, but a second-half brace from Laxey’s Mica Santos saw the Miners get their noses in front for the first time. Leanne Prescott levelled matters via a free-kick before Speed guaranteed maximum yield with the last attack of the game.

The matches involving DHSOB against Douglas Royal and Peel versus Douglas Athletic were postponed.
