Corinthians and Peel will contest the 16th Nedbank-sponsored Women’s FA Cup final.

The Whites secured their place into the final after defeating Colby 9-1 at the Station fields on Sunday.

Leading 3-1 at the break, Chloe Teare (3), Casey Halsall (2), Elizabeth Stanley (2) and Lisa Costain (2) netted for the Whites, the southern reply came via a former Corinthians’ player, Amy Speed.

In the other semi-final, Laxey gave the westerners a scare after taking a half-time lead through Mica Santos. However, second-half goals from Maxine Smalley (2) and Sarah O’Reilly made sure that the Sunset City side reached the final.

The two teams have met each other twice previously in the final of the competition. Corinthians won in the first meeting 3-2 during the 2014-15 campaign, but Peel came out on top the following year by the same scoreline.

It is the first time in Manx football that both men’s and women’s teams from the same clubs will contest their respective FA Cup finals.

A full report will appear in this week’s Manx Independent.
