Peel and Corinthians have qualified for the semi-finals of this season’s Nedbank Floodlit Cup after Peel defeated Laxey 8-0 in the pair’s group B at the Bowl on Sunday.

The westerners led 5-0 at the break, with Maxine Smalley (4), Eleanor Gawne (2), Becky Corkish and Sarah Taylor on target. Laxey had their moments but couldn’t put their ball into the back of the net when it mattered.

Corinthians qualified for a place in the final four without having to kick a ball. Group B consists of three teams, the Whites having won their encounter with Laxey 5-0 which was played two weeks before.
