The fledgling stockcar season continued in perfect conditions at Onchan Raceway on Monday evening.

First out on track were the Window Wizard junior rods starting from their new graded positions.

Cian Peers made a quick start from the back of the pack before Shane Ellison came through in the closing laps to take the honours ahead Peers, Shannon Moore and Nicole Astell-Burt.

Race two saw Ellison quickly take control of the race not to be caught and claim his second victory of the evening ahead of Peers, Moore and Astell-Burt. Peers claimed the victory in race three ahead of Moore, Astell-Burt and Ellison.

Race four saw a complete restart after Ellison spun blocking the track and Peers claimed his second win of the night ahead of Moore, Ellison and Astell-Burt. The Onchan Raceway trophies were awarded to: 1, Cian Peers; 2, Shane Ellison; 3, Shannon Moore.

The Swift Motors production rods were next out on track competing in the final round of their Gold Cup championship.

Mike Craine and Nick Ford both continued to closely contest each race with Adam and Andy Quayle just behind them. Ford claimed the victory in race one followed by Craine, Adam Quayle and Andy Quayle.

Race two saw Ford again take the honours ahead of Craine, Adam Quayle and Andy Quayle. Completing the hat-trick, Ford crossed the line ahead of Craine, Andy Quayle and Adam Quayle in race three. Sealing the honours overall for the evening, Ford went on to win race four ahead of Craine and Andy Quayle.

The Onchan Raceway trophies were awarded to 1, N. Ford; 2, M. Craine; 3, Andy Quayle. Ford was also the top point-scoring driver over the last three meetings with 63 to win the Gold Cup.

The A&J Quality Butchers bangers were last out on the track and, with 10 cars in the pits, it was set to be a good night.

Tom Westbrook claimed the victory in race one ahead of Nick Collister, Grant Crellin, Jemma Moore and Ste Collister.

Race two saw Jordan Halligan-Bunce lead from start to finish claiming the honours ahead of Lee Jordan, Crellin, Moore and S.Collister. Race three was won by Halligan-Bunce with Jordan, S.Collister and Moore finishing second to fourth respectively.

Race four saw seven cars start the race and, after several spins and crashes and only two cars finishing, Jordan claimed the victory ahead of Collister.

The Onchan Raceway trophies were awarded to: 1, Lee Jordan; 2, Ste Collister; 3, Jordan Halligan-Bunce.

Racing resumes this Monday, July 27 at 7.30pm with the junior rods, production rods and bangers - spectator gates open at 7pm.YVONNE DILLON
