The Grant Thornton-sponsored Isle of Man Golf Closed Championship get underway at Rowany Golf Club on Saturday morning.
The men’s and women’s championships will once again be held concurrently at the Port Erin course, having done so last year for the first time since the island’s respective golf unions formed Isle of Man Golf.
The competition begins with the first round of men’s qualifying between 7am and 12.20pm on Saturday, followed by the women’s equivalent from 12.45-2.35pm.
The second rounds then takes place at the same times on Sunday, but there will be no women’s last-16 matchplay action on Monday as originally scheduled as a result of only 13 entrants being received.
The men’s last-16 matchplay begins at 4.30pm on Tuesday, followed by both the men’s and women’s quarter-finals from 4.30pm on Wednesday.
Thursday sees the men’s and women’s semi-finals teeing off at 5pm before 36-hole women’s two-round final gets underway at 10am and 2pm on Saturday followed by the men’s finale at 10.15am and 2.15pm.
The prize presentation is then expected to get underway at roughly 6.30pm in the Rowany clubhouse.
In the men’s competition, 2010 champion Darryl Callister, 2014 winner Peter Glover and two-time winner Kevin Moore could all end up being in the mix while quadruple champion Paul Lowey and eight-time winner Julian Sutton have the benefit of the championships being held on their home course.
There’s no doubting who starts as favourite in the women’s competition, with Breeshey Jansen aiming to make it four island titles in succession having won every one since 2015.
With none of the talented Dawson clan - Ana, Lea and Kayleigh - involved and six-time champion Emma Harris not taking part, it looks like her nearest challengers are likely to be Shirley Price, Catherine Cassidy and newly-crowned junior champion Emma Noon.
