For the past 10 years, Canaccord Genuity Vikings A have been very much the team to beat in women’s hockey.

They clinched their 10th consecutive PwC Premier League title on Saturday following a thumping win over Partitionware Castletown A, but that only tells half the tale.

When casting an eye over the records, one runs out of superlatives for Kim Carney’s All-Blacks. This season they have won nine out of nine, averaging almost six goals a game while conceding only five.

Carney alone has hit 20 of them, more than twice as many as the bottom two clubs in the league put together.

Looking further back, they are undefeated since 2009, a record that stands at 112 games in all local competitions and counting.

A hat-trick from Carney and another three from the recently-returned Sarah Blackman took her tally to eight goals in the week, as Vikings deservedly clinched the title.

LJ Ramsey moved into pole position for second place after a composed win against Ramsey Crookall Bacchanalians A. Vicki Garner hit two for the youthful Ramsey side in a high-standard affair.
